The Cape Breton Western Riders Association is committed to the promotion and development of good horsemanship and sportsmanship through education to develop respect, responsibility, enjoyment and friendship while upholding the well-being of the horse.

1.   To improve riding and horsemanship skills.

2.   To provide a place for competition.

3.   To promote riding/driving as a sport and as enjoyable family recreation especially for youth.

4.   To encourage socializing resulting in friendships and good will between members.

5.   To promote open communication.

6.   To promote a positive public image:
       a) with the general public
       b) within the industry

7.   To promote and improve the quality of horses.
